Good Morning! Two big things happened last week I thought I would share. I made my first visit back to my office (Lane County Sheriff's Office) since the accident. I had a wonderful time visiting with old friends and colleagues, lots of hugs and tears. Two hours later I was on my way home. Now that I've broken the ice so to speak I feel more comfortable in popping in again in the future. A retirement gathering is being planned to occur within the next few weeks.
My second accomplishment last week is walking my little dog Lucy. For those of you that know me you know Lucy (Yorkshire terrier) is like my third child. Cane in one hand, Lucy in the other... it was great! I'm no speed demon but I'm out there.
Physically, I'm doing okay. I'm starting to have more back pain which could be from the accident or could be old stuff (disc and muscle strain stuff) resurfacing. I've been told by the therapists that this is common the more mobile I become. Legs and wrist are coming along.
I'm walking more in terms of distance, but it sure isn't easy. We've put my parents home up for sale in Harrisburg. While that was hard it's time. Both kids are now home (Lucy is in heaven) until August 1st when they move into their respective apartments.
Take care and enjoy the sunshine.
Marta B.
