Hi everyone, sorry it's been so long since I last put out a blog. Hope you're enjoying this warm weather! I met with the surgeons this week and things continue to progress. My left ankle, foot, and femur area are healing well. More physical therapy over the next month or two and more walking will aid in recovery. The right wrist is coming along. No plans to take the plate out just yet. I will continue with physical therapy and look to the fall to get the plate out. I experience pain and discomfort with the wrist when using it too much but given the damage to it, that's not surprising.
The prosthetic continues to be a work in progress and I'll see John the leg guy early next week for a further tune up. I was able to walk for 25 minutes the other day with some discomfort but I was still able to do it. All in all I'm doing okay.
Other news.....Ed and I are off later today to attend the Olympic Trials. We'll take in events over the next ten days. The Sheriff's Office is in the process of planning a retirement gathering for me mid to late July. I'm looking forward to that, seeing old friends and colleagues and closing out that chapter of my life.
Enjoy the sun and keep those emails coming. I love to hear from folks and appreciate your well wishes.
Marta B.
