Happy Mother's Day! I'm having a great day so far. Ed took me to Starbucks for coffee and a treat this morning. Heard from both kids by telephone, they'll come over for dinner this evening. We picked up Gramme 'E' (Ethel, Ed's mom) and did our annual run to Decker's nursery. It was a beautiful drive and we scored some lovely baskets. Thank you to Uncle Mike, Denise, and my nieces Amanda and Alyssa for the dozen roses and delicious peanut butter cookies.
Feeling better then I expected in terms of not having my Mom here with me. I know that she would not want me to be tearful or sad today. She is with me in spirit.
This afternoon Ed took me to an office parking lot so I could try my hand at driving. I did pretty well for the first time out with the prosthetic leg. It's definitely different and it will take several weeks to get used to the gas and brake but I can do it.
Hope you enjoy today.
