Today mom moved from the ICU to a room on the orthopedic floor which is very good news. A surgery to repair her right wrist may happen this friday. At this point we'd like to keep visiting to a minimum so that mom can rest and get her strength up. Thanks

Helen Terry with MACC Dispatch in Grant County Washington. Glad to hear your mom is doing well. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.
Thank you so much for this Blog... It helps us to know how your mom is doing, without us having to bother anyone with questions.
We're praying for her and your family and hope you will let any of us know if we can do anything else.

Emily - This is the first time I have visited your site. Each day is so encouraging. Marta is one amazing lady and I cannot wait to visit her. She has given so much of herself to this community - I hope we can now do something to support her. I know she'll just take on all of that physical therapy with all that Marta courage and "spunk" and take one step at a time. Please give her a hug from the Kiefer Family. Thank you.

Emily and family:
My thoughts are with all of you. I know your Dad. I knew Carol, she wasmy secretary in the D.A.s office backi in the mid-70s. My sons came out and met Marta and her brother, Tony and rode their horse back then. I think she would have been about 15 then.
I was shocked when I became aware of this accident in the paper. As I told your Dad in an e-mail there are lots of friends who are thinking and praying for Marta and your family. I am glad that she has such strong a strong loving family to help her get well.
There will be many hurtles Marta will have to go over during her recovery but each and everyday is a step closer... Thanks again Emily for keeping us updated. The news of Marta out of ICU makes me smile.. Looking forward to seeing her soon!
Hugs to all...Pam Palmer
