Well a good day at the doctor. I don't want to get any one's hope's up but we did get good news on all fronts. That's both arms and both legs. We have another Dr visit 2-13-08 when we are hoping to get the go ahead to move back to Sacred Heart for the next step in moving Marta home.
We still have a long road and a number of procedures ahead but still have not slipped backwards. Mart is one tough cookie.
Speaking of tough, instead of going to Sacred Heart to have to pins and rods removed from her left arm, Marta made the choice to do this today while at the Slocum building. A pretty amazing process, but no the less, she did this wide awake and while only gritting her teeth. I on the other hand just about passed out. The left hand Fixators are gone and Marta is in a soft splint only for the next 2 weeks. It's a good day.
Moving forward, as always. Thanks for your thoughts. Ed.
P.S. Marta is working really hard to rehab the middle finger on her left hand, I'm wondering why?

Great report!
If anyone is wondering if they should visit or not, go for it! We need to pass the time to get her home and the more the merrier!
Hey Marta B.,
Great news! I'm glad you are healing up, and I'm not surprised that you didn't want to go back to Sacred Heart to get your pins and rods out. It's just another picture into your strength!
By the way, your pictures are looking better and better! I'm glad to see that!
I'm sure glad Ed is keeping up with posting to the site, Thanks Ed!
Lots of hugs!
Jennifer
Marta,
The Doctors at the Slocum Clinic are the best, without a doubt. Rest assured you are in very good hands. We have photos of you and 'Lucy the therapy Pug' posted near reception - she's adorable and you look like you are having a great time.
Thinking of you. Di
Diane,
If the photo of Marta and Lucy the pug is emailable we can put it on the blog. Either send to Ed or me at sue@raftersfootwear.com. That would be great to see!
Thanks,
Sue
Oh my Gosh!!!I am just realizing that our previous messages haven't been posted! This new blog world is obviously out of my area of expertise! Marta, As you would know~ our thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family each day. We are s-o-o-o-o happy for your progress and are looking forward to a visit- SOON. Please keep us on the list of helping in ANY way. Keep up the great work and we will see you soon. With love, Jack and Susan Kauble
Marta - You are amazing! And not surprising that you had them pull those pins right then and there!
The pics of you and "pugdog Lucy" are adorable. They put a smile on my face each time I walk by them.
We miss your smile Miss Marta - Keep up the great work and I will be by to see you soon.
Hugs,
Janet
Marta! I have been out of the loop as I retired right around the time of your terrible accident. Laura has been keeping me updated and she just sent this Blog site to me today. I am smiling at Ed's EDitorials and your progress is amazing (as I knew it would be). You are moving along at what seems an incredible pace and it makes my heart sing to know there is light at the end of the ol' tunnel. God Bless you and your family and may your body and heart mend with miracles! Your hallmate buddy, Marie Hartman
Marta, It is so good to see you up and around. Maybe Ill bring Jordan by and you two can race around. Ed is doing a wonderful job of keeping us all posted on your progress and I can't keep from smiling everytime I read it. You just amaze me, but I knew you could do it. Yes you have long road ahead but I am positive you are up for the challenge. Keep us in mind if you need anything at all. Take care and we will be by to see you before we leave townl. Our love and prayers Cindy & Jim
Marta-
I'm so happy to see how well you are doing and I miss you terribly! Any snoring people nearby keeping you awake at night down there-hahaha! I'll go get you some earplugs in the produce section just like in Welches. I'm stacking all your work for you in nice little piles on your desk! I will try to come visit you today and bring you some Starbucks.
Laura
