today was really quiet, a lot of sleeping for mom. She was pretty tired and unfortunately she couldnt speak with the valve because her neck is still a little swollen, and it was a little to hard for her to breathe and speak. we will try again tomorrow.

Our thoughts, prayers, positive thoughts and fond wishes are with Marta, as she bravely faces the arduous journey to an anticipated full recovery.

We viewed your heart-touching story on the 9-1-1 Cares website, and we wanted to reach out to you and your family.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother and the devastating injuries to your mother. She is certainly in my thoughts and prayers along with those of dispatchers in 9-1-1 centers throughout the country. I hope the new year brings her strength and recovery. She is so lucky to have such a loving family to help her through this difficult time. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Emily, Thanks for keeping us all informed about your moms progress. Jim and I have known and worked with your mom first as we started our careers in LE 33 years ago, then our familys grew, and ofcourse there were always the U of O games we all enjoyed. If there is one thing I have learned over the manys years of working projects together, its that she is filled with determination, and strength throughout the project/life. I know it doesn't seem like it right now but this is just another "project" which she will complete with all her strength and determination. We look forward to the time when we can visit with all of you. Please give her kisses and hugs for us, and don't hesitate to let us know when/what/how we can help all of you. There isn't day that goes by that I don't think of you all. Our prayers are with you. Friends, Cindy R
