Tuesday, June 3rd

Hi everyone, how are you? I'm having a great day! As luck would have it I had all three appointments in one day (physical therapy on the legs, right wrist, and meeting with John the leg guy). Talk about feeling productive... Ed's right this really is a full time job (ha). Oh, and except for the appointment early this morning at Sacred Heart (thank you son Michael) I drove to the others. Driving to the hospital isn't the issue... it's how far I have to walk once I park the car.... being squired around in a wheelchair once in awhile is nice.

My aunt will be here all day tomorrow. We're planning on running some errands, taking in a movie, and going out to dinner to celebrate my mother's birthday. Carol would have been 74 this coming Saturday, June 7th. Celebration might not be the right word but we do want to honor her in some fashion.

Kids are good, studying hard for finals next week. Ed is fine, enjoying his new office (Ward Insurance moved to a beautiful new building on Country Club rd), and working out with his buddies at the DAC.

That's all for now, thanks for checking on me.

Regards,
Marta B.

Dear Marta,

I feel so dumb as I don't know how these blogs work. There is a chance you've received a few of these from me.

I don't know if you remember me but I worked with you 19 years ago. I heard about your accident through Del Stillwell, who used to work at the jail and 911 Cares. I was so sorry to hear you lost your Mom as well.

A little catch up- Jay and I have been married almost 26 years. We have a daughter, Erica who will be a sophomore and son, Michael who will be in the 8th grade. Jay did become a lawyer and I am a Dispatch Supervisor for the Spokane Police Dept. I've been here 18 years. To think I used to be the baby in Eugene and now I am old enough to be some of the officer's mother!

I don't know if you'd heard that our kids had been in a tractor accident when they were 5 and 3. Erica subsequently lost her right arm (she was right handed). She has done great. I would love to send you pix of our kids, if I had your email or snail mail address.

Erica had a documentary made on how to do things one-handed. Her Dad and I are in it some to for coping, as the parents. It plays on the local city TV channel. My intent was to get it to Children's Hospitals but haven't got that far yet. She was Homecoming Princess this year, is the Chair for the Chase Youth Commission of Spokane and even did some runway modeling last year. She has tried volleyball, basketball and soccer. She is currently in cross-cross country and track. I say this to tell you we've been there for the ups and downs of personal loss, if you ever wanted to chat. Not that it sounds like you need anymore support. Your family, friends and medical staff have done a great job.

I'd love to hear from you. My email is wuzanutt@comcast.net.

Blessings, Pam
