Oh happy day, Marta is out of ICU! We are all thankful for that. Right now though the doctors and family request no visitors so she can rest up for her next surgery. I think we all understand that and will respect their wishes. Emily can let us know when it is clear to come visit. Thanks for listening!

First, thank you for creating this blog, Emily. It means a lot to all of us who care about your family. I don’t believe we’ve ever met. In fact, I don’t know that I’ve ever met your mother either. Whenever I hear her name, I always picture a little girl about 7 years old or so – that’s the only picture of her I’ve ever seen of her, with her arms around my brother Steve when he was little, too. But I’ve heard lots of stories about your mom, and visited with Clyde and Carol, two of the most awesome people I’ve known. Their senses of humor are legendary in my family. We were all shocked, like everyone else, by the accident. Not only because of the sudden loss of Carol and Marta’s extensive injuries, but because of how it could have happened to anyone – anyone one of us. It really hit home how lucky we all are for every day we’re given.

Emily,
We are so sorry for your loss of your grandmother. We are glad that your mom is resting well. Our thoughts are with you and your whole family at this time. Many Rotarians are remembering you in their prayers. Please know that we are here for you.
